The Debate

All the students were really excited because it was the first debate which was going to happen in the lecture room. The debaters were getting ready with their points and the judges were also getting ready with their stuff. The tables were arranged in a proper manner and the moment which personally I was waiting came at last.

      

               I personally don't like to see people arguing about something actually anything.                    I really don't know why ??? but personally hate it allot hehe...!! :)

But when it comes to debates which are done formally I just love listing to the arguments they bring and the breaking of points and most of all some people have very special debating skills and I really love watching them talk both verbally and non verbally... It just makes me sooo excited...!!

 

The topic of the debate was " Does teachers ruin students creativity?" 

The proposing and the apposing teams brought out their points together with their personal experiences. The weakness we all understood in them was they were not quite ready for the debate and they were always talking only about a single point which was how can 1+1=2
But some debaters were able to bring out very strong points which everyone in the audience also agreed with them. At the end of the debate the apposing team won because they were able to stick to the topic in a better manner.

 I strongly believe that teachers do not ruin a student's creativity.!! 

The reason for my statement is because just walk back to the days you first joined to kinda garden.    I guess most of us has forgotten about it. after the simple words which were taught to us by our parents, teachers will be the people who will be caring it forward. 

Can you remember pasting color papers in a sheet. Why did we do this its because by the color papers which was given to us, we can come up with some kind of creative picture or design. This is the primary stage where a child's creativeness starts improving. It is said by specialists and doctors.

So just think was it us who got the color papers and started designing things?? Or was it teachers who gave us the opportunity to come up with a creative thought?? Like wise if we start piling up the situations and opportunities which we got during school time most of them has come to us because of teachers.

But at the same time one will say NO, it was always me or sometimes some students will say I never got a chance or something like that..

Just think the reason for you to not to get a chance or an opportunity to show up you talents or your creativity?? Isn't it you who the reason for not getting a chance. If your not confident enough to standup and prove your self no one else would understand it. You cant blame someone else for your mistakes. can you?? 

When your given the opportunity it is you who should make use of it, someone else can't bring it to your foot step.

Just think in the school days each and every school has different functions such as English days, Sports meets, drama competitions and what not. Why do teachers arrange these functions?? It's not for the teachers but by these different functions they give an opportunity, chance for the students to come up with different creative ideas and present it to the outer world. 

So tell me how can someone say that teachers ruin a students creativity???

                           

If I take an example out of my life, and I'm still proud of my self and most of all I'm really grateful towards my teachers especially my coach for giving me such an opportunity. When I was in grade 5   I had no idea that I had any talent in the field of sports. But because of my teachers in grade 5,          I found out that my talent and ability in that field was so high. From the time I got to know about it my teachers and my coach was always beside me and helping me out in all the way. And the end result was me getting an opportunity to join the Sri Lankan Schools Netball team. But though I got an opportunity I didn't make use of my opportunity and for this i still do regret and I know it was my fault but not teachers, because they gave me the fullest support but I didn't make use of my chance because of my education. So throughout my netball carer my parents plus the coach and teachers were always beside me and I'm so glad and thankful to them.

So according to my experience and my knowledge I think that this depends on a persons past experience. Because we can't expect all the teachers to be same. like there is a saying called 

 "All the five fingers in our hand is not the same" so we can't expect all the teachers to be same. So because one teacher has treated you in a bad way you can't judge every person in the same aspect.
